Class Title:  Bead Crochet Rope Bracelet

Date/Time:  June 14th - 10:00 am

Instructor:  Rita Rushing

In this 2-3 hour class you will learn to make a bead crochet rope & use that rope to make a beautiful, unique bracelet.  Knowing how to crochet is a big plus but not an absolute requirement.  Expect to spend more time, if you do not already know how to crochet.  Once you know how to make a crochet bead rope & finish this bracelet, the possibilities & variations are limitless.

You must have approximately 36 inches of beads strung on your cord before class starts.  DO NOT cut the cord.  Put your strung beads & cord spool in a small jar or wrap the strung beads around your spool of cord.  Dropping your strung beads in a bag will allow the beads & cord to become tangled.  A bead spinner is a fun & quick way to load a lot of beads on your cord.  We will have bead spinner demos at Elegant Notions all day Sat. May 24th.

Class Cost:  $30

Supplies/Tools

1 spool Conso #18 Nylon, C-lon or S-lon thread (do not buy a really dark color for the first project)

Bead & Jewelry Making Resources

We continue to expand the scope of our bead resources section

We have been adding more and more link to our new links page. We have had links submitted by a number of people for various resources including beading sites, discussion groups and message boards.  If you have a link you would like to share, please send it to us.

Work continue work on our project dedicated to promoting the extensive bead research done by the late Peter Francis Jr.

We will be continually expanding this section in the coming months in an effort to turn it into a premiere source of information for beaders and jewelry makers.  In addition, if you have anything you would like to share or would be of interest to your fellow beaders, please drop us a line and tell us about it.

Bead Societies and Clubs

We are currently updating our database on bead societies and clubs.  Please take a moment to look at our listings and check to see if the information for your club or organization is correct and current.  Also, if you are in a bead group we have an offer for you that you can't refuse.  We are offering all beading organizations a free web page on this site to use as you wish.  You can use it to advertise your organization, announce upcoming events or classes or basically anything you want - as long as it is related to beads.  This is entirely free - all we ask is that you provide a link to our site from yours (if you have one, otherwise there is no requirement) which we assume you would want to do anyway so that your members can find your page.  If you are interested please let us know.  Finally, if your group has a regular printed newsletter and you accept paid advertisers, please contact us concerning advertising rates and deadlines.

Customer Feedback

We are still feeling our way through this, so your feed back will be greatly appreciated.  If there is anything you want that you can't find, something you would like to have added, a helpful suggestion, something not working right on the site or you just want to say 'Hello', please contact us

Free African Trade Bead Contest!

Somewhere on our website - outside of the store - is a 'hot-spot'.  There is still 1 strand of our very nice Handmade African Brass Bicone Trade Beads available (congratulations to Jeannette Spencer and Jen Szczublewski for being the first two to find the secret code).  All you have to do is click on the hotspot, make a note of the prize code and send us an email.  Be one of the first and we will send you your free beads.
